For the first Aware in Care event of this term we will be organising the ’’Addressing Addiction” workshop. This will be especially focused on the addiction situation in Malta, its mental and physical effects, misinformation about the disease and an how to effectively communicate with patients suffering from addiction. Following this, our speakers will present case scenarios, after which the attendees will be split into small groups to discuss the said cases with the tutors going round to help. Eventually, after reconvening to discuss them all together we would then finish off the session by answering any questions you may have.
We encourage you to come to this event so that not only can we become more informed on addiction but also so that we can help ourselves, peers and patients begin to view and treat it as the chronic disease it really is. The event will be held on 20th October @KSU common room between 15:00 and 16.30.
