Hi everyone! I'm very excited to announce that we will be starting this year’s Diabetes Awareness Campaign with our World Diabetes Day Workshop, which will be taking place on Tuesday 7th November at 4pm till 7pm, at Central Auditorium, MDH. Diabetes is a prevalent health issue in the Maltese Islands, and therefore as medical students, it is our responsibility to promote awareness and provide the public with valuable information on maintaining their well-being. In order to do this, we have organised an annual workshop aimed at equipping students with essential skills for measuring blood pressure, blood glucose, blood cholesterol, BMI, and waist circumference. Furthermore, we will explain to you know to effectively communicate these measurements to the public. Those who attend the workshop will also receive a certificate for participation!
There will be two available sessions from 4pm till 5:30pm, and 5:30pm till 7pm, with limited applicants. Positions are first come first served, so later applications will be asked to attend the less-filled session.
IMPORTANT: Only attendees of this workshop will be allowed to take part in World Diabetes Day itself and subsequent health checks throughout the month. Both a stethoscope and a sphygmomanometer are needed for health checks, so I urge those who haven’t bought one yet, to buy from Ok Medical: https://forms.gle/beJhuzZ4gwCQxHeJ8
