SCORP is proud to present ‘Strength in Inclusion’, a project which aims to raise awareness and encourage University students to voice their opinions on major issues in our society. Funded by an Erasmus+ Grant, we are organising a series of 3 debates on campus in the coming months.

The first debate, entitled ‘Disability: Overcoming Boundaries’, will be taking place on Wednesday 15th November during DegreePlus hours at nALR (Biomedical Building). Guest speakers from the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disability (CRPD) will be in attendance to share their personal experiences of living with a disability in Malta, including the stigma and any barriers they have faced in their lives.

An overview of the Maltese Legislation’s Equal Opportunities Act will also be given before kicking off a debate between the attendees and guest speakers in order to discuss what can be done in Malta to promote equality and improve the quality of life of individuals with some form of disability. The feedback collected from this event will also be presented to the Commissioner for the Rights of Persons with Disability Mr Oliver Scicluna, to ensure that YOUR voice is heard during policy-making.

The full agenda will be posted in the coming days.

These meetings are open to all, not just medical students, and all participants will receive due certification for attending.

We hope to see you there!
